Always say no
Carl has worked at the same cargo company at Schiphol Airport for many years. He started there on the forklift and progressed to the office, with a small team under him. Together they work like a well-oiled machine. Every day they move tons of cargo, and that gives them a kick. To blow off steam, most of the team likes to smoke a cigarette. They do so outside, beyond the entrance gate, on a main road.
Look before you leap
Kate is only 26, but she is already flying around the world. In elementary school, she already knew that she wanted to become a stewardess. This is her dream job. She takes pride in her work and enjoys sharing photos of herself and colleagues on Insta, as well as photos of her two-year-old daughter. When she takes the train to work, she always wears her uniform. Everyone may know that she works at Schiphol.
Some things are private
Jacques has been working for the largest caterer at the airport for years and he’s not shy about it. Or the fact that after his divorce he is having a bit of money trouble. As he says himself, he is an open book. Everyone in his neighbourhood and at the airport knows his story.
Report or not?
Mason is overjoyed when he gets a job in baggage handling at Schiphol Airport through the employment agency. He has been looking for work for months and now it has finally happened. Once he has signed his contract, he gets his work clothes and collects his access pass. In the underground baggage hall, Mason is put to work immediately.
