In 2024 Bas makes three impressive portraits of people who have had to deal with subversive crime at Schiphol Airport. They tell what this has meant for them and ask themselves whether they could have acted differently in this situation.
In the first portrait, Bas talks to Redouan, an ex-criminal who became known in the Dutch drug circuit in the late 1990s. He knows better than anyone how criminals trick innocent people.
Episode two features Gilbert. He realised too late that the new boyfriend of his childhood friend Vera had bad intentions. The boy completely palmed Vera and forced her to smuggle drugs.
In the provisional final episode, we are introduced to Mehmet, who started working with his childhood friend Farouk as an airplane cleaner at Schiphol Airport. Farouk appeared to have different intentions from the start. Why did his friend choose the wrong path and not him? And how did that turn out?
